It was official. I was in love.
I sighed blissfully. It was love at first sight. He was pretty well-known around town, almost to the point of being famous. Every girl eyed him with want and desire, but there was the fact that he wasn't good for them. Oh, no. He was bad, bad to the core.
He might've been a little crisp at times, but if people got to know him on an intimate level (such as yours truly), they would realize that he was all mushy inside. He was fragile at times; he had to be handled with care. One simply couldn't get enough of him.

Stupid pie.
In the span of 2 hours, I had visited Kroger, Wal-Mart, Randall's, H.E.B, and even the local pie shop, but no. Nobody had my pie.
"Oh, come one!" I yelled at the sky, waving an angry fist at the wrathful pie gods. The fluffy white clouds melded into the shape of a pie, mocking and provoking me even further. Stupid pie.
"I have pie."
I looked around wildly. What kind of pie? Was it my pie? "Who has pie?" There was no one around me.
"I have pie." The voice sounded close.
"Who is I?" I yelled out of frustration.
"I am Pi."
"...Eh?"

Carlos was a just a lost little freshman, desperately clinging to his notebook and wading fearfully through the waters of high school, steering away from the juniors and seniors like a fish avoided an incoming swarm of sharks.
